Wae Rebo – Flores 3 Days 2 Nights

Wae Rebo is a traditional village belongs to Manggarainese ethnic group. The situation of the village is in the western part of Flores-Manggarai Regency-East Nusa Tenggara Province. Their Anchestor built the village in the high place for any reasons. The village is about 1200 meters above sea level. There are seven houses made of wood, with rope-bundle construction, Palm fiber and the shape is like a pyramid. These traditional houses make this village impressive and unique. The house has corelation with Lodok (spider Rice web) system of land distribution which is done by the leader of the village must be equal and balance. The community in this village make their houses based on spirit togetherness (working together), all made by using natural sources from the jungle. The culture of the local community is the main attraction here. Their culture relates to nature, their belief system, local traditions, and customs as well as their social life are something unique to be observe.

The outline of the Wae Rebo program is as follows:

Day 1. Labuan Bajo – Denge Village – Wae Rebo

Early morning pick-up at the hotel in Labuan Bajo, west Flores, and a drive through Lembor village. A short stop will be made there to see the largest wet paddy-field in west Flores. Then we continue the drive through the impressive panorama to the Denge village. Upon arrival in Denge Village your trekking will start. It will take approximately 3 hours to reach the beautiful traditional village of Wae Rebo. Lunch will be on the way, dinner and overnight at Wae Rebo village.

Day 2. Wae Rebo – Denge Village – Labuan Bajo

A simple breakfast in Wae Rebo village, then sightseeing and enjoying the village. Interacting with the local community is the way to get real experiences and impressions about their way of life. Leaving the village and trekking down, returning to Denge village. After arriving at the village, a drive back to Labuan Bajo is planned. Lunch will be served on the way. Check in at your hotel in Labuan Bajo for the overnight stay and dinner follow.

Day 3. Hotel – Airport

Breakfast at hotel, free at leisure until time to check out from your hotel for the next destination.
